LOCATION: Long Island, New York (Suffolk County)
This practice’s hospital that the new Critical Care Nurse Practitioner will be working at is located in Suffolk County, Long Island.
It is a beautiful area of Long Island. This very desirable location is also close to the water and excellent for sailing and boating activities. It also has a very good school system.
Their hospital is situated about 1.5 hours to Manhattan. Therefore, you will also be able to take full advantage of, have easy accessibility to, and be able to enjoy the countless and varied cultural, recreational, and educational opportunities that only a city, as great and exciting as New York City, has to offer!
A Critical Care Nurse Practitioner is needed to work full-time and be employed by a single-specialty private practice group.
Established about ten years ago, this busy private practice currently has four Board Certified Pulmonologists/Critical Care physicians and six Physician Assistants who all work hourly per diem shifts. (They are also in the process of hiring an additional pulmonologist/critical care physician and a strictly critical care physician.)
Availability: They are willing and able to wait a couple of months regarding starting date of employment.
Qualifications for the new Critical Care Nurse Practitioner candidate: (1) She or he must be experienced in critical care, including procedures. (2) Board Certification is not required.
This is a 100% inpatient opportunity.
Shift/Work Schedule: There will be 12-hour shifts. Seven days on and seven days off. No other calls. Shifts will be assigned by this practice, with input from the Nurse Practitioner. Initially it will start as day shifts but may include nights as well.
Hospital: The new Critical Care Nurse Practitioner will be based and work at anacute-care general medical and surgical community hospital. This medical center has a closed intensive care unit and 20 ICU beds.
As previously mentioned, the new CC Nurse Practitioner will be employed by this private single-specialty group.
The starting salary range is very competitive. It is commensurate with the candidate’s experience.
The practice will provide fringe benefits, which is negotiable. They cover the malpractice, which is a risk retention group. They do not cover paid vacation time.
