Dates:  ASAP – Up to one year assignment
Hours: Rotating 24 hour shifts from 6A – 6P or 6P – 6A, covering 7 days per week including holidays. Flexible schedule. Locum Tenens, Moonlighting, Weekends, Part-Time and Full Time Opportunities Available.

Position Summary:
The Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) Advanced Practice Provider (APP)  provides direct patient care services for complex critically ill cardiothoracic surgery patients, predominately in an intensive care setting, as well as other units within the Hospital including the OR, PACU, Step-down units, inpatient units, emergency department (ED), and hospital- based clinic settings in collaboration with cardiac anesthesiologist and under the supervision of the ccardiothoracic surgeon(s) and the Medical Director of the CTICU. TheAPP performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, coordinates the care and discharge of patients, assist in the operating room, and provides direct patient care services. TheCTICU APP contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, and provides leadership to the organization.

Job Requirements:

Position requires completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) program, with national certification as an APP from a national certifying board. NP certification as an Acute Care NP is strongly preferred.  A Master’s degree is strongly preferred. The APP must have AHA healthcare provider status for BLS and ACLS certification. North Carolina medical license required.
