APP: Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assist - Urologic Surgical Onc. in California
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 1.0 FTE

Job Description

This is a full time exempt position working 4 days a week, 10 hour shifts in the Urologic Surgical Oncology clinic. The Urologic Oncology program focuses on the investigation and management of cancers of the prostate, bladder, kidney, testis and genitalia. The program is dedicated to finding cancer treatments that offer the greatest efficacy with the fewest complications and are based on a multi-specialty approach. We are dedicated to transforming cancer care and are committed to the quality of the patient experience throughout the continuum of their care. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with world-renowned surgical oncologists who are experts in Urologic Oncology. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant will also work closely with other members of the cancer care team who provide clinical trials coordination, multispecialty tumor boards, supportive care, palliative care, and survivorship. The Uro Oncology Surgery APP manages an independent clinic in collaboration with the physicians and bills for services, sees patients for urgent evaluations or outpatient needs, performs Pre-Ops, Cystoscopies, Prostate Biopsies, BCG and various other procedures, manages and orders diagnostic and imaging tests, prescription medications, clinic appointments and referrals, evaluates side-effects and triages patient calls as needed, effectively communicates and interacts with patients, families, staff and members of the community from diverse backgrounds, and participates in the analysis of clinical results, presentation of clinical outcomes at local and national meetings, and publication of results.

 

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner
Education: Master's or Doctorate Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university is, required.
License/Certification: BLS - Basic Life Support, required.
License/Certification: CA Registered Nurse (RN), required.
License/Certification: Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by a nationally recognized nursing organization (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners-AANP, American Nurses Credentialing Center-ANCC, or any successor organizations), required.
License/Certification: DEA - DEA Number from the US Drug Enforcement Administration, required.
License/Certification: CA NP - Nurse Practitioner, required.
License/Certification: NPF - NP Furnishing Number, required. 

Physician Assistant
Education: Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college or university. Graduate of a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc.
License/Certification: Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of California is required.
License/Certification: BLS - Basic Life Support, required.
License/Certification: DEA - DEA Number from the US Drug Enforcement Administration, required.
License/Certification: Must be board certified from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) at the time of hire and maintain certification during employment at SHC.
