Calibrates and operates equipment and develops films. Staff members will be responsible for the care of all patients, age 0 to 100+ years old. Each staff member will rely on their past experiences, as well as their professional training with the geriatric and pediatric patient, to meet these standards. Staff training will be reinforced by the following methods; continuing education for licensure, video presentations (both in the hospital and outside), seminars and conferences addressing geriatrics, adolescents and infants. The evaluation of performance in handling these patients will be evaluated on a yearly basis, in conjunction with the yearly job performance evaluation. JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1.Associate of Arts Degree or Associate of Science Degree. 2.Bachelor of Science preferred. 3.RDMS certification in at least two specialty areas preferred. 4.Certification by the Arizona Department of Health Services and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT and CRT) preferred. Incumbent will perform ultrasound examinations of the abdomen, pelvis, breast and superficial structures including the scrotum, neck and extremities. Vascular ultrasound will be performed in the vascular lab performing non-invasive ultrasound and Doppler test; including, segmental pressures of upper and lower extremities. The incumbent is responsible for the following functions: a) performs ultrasonography studies, records and processes images, as well as prepares the processed images for interpretation. b) performs examinations; such as, abdomen- liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, abdominal aorta, vena cava, carotids, and femoral arteries. c) assists the Radiologist with interventional procedures such as biopsies, and drainage procedures. d) performs exams on the wards using a portable ultrasound unit. e) performs non-invasive ultrasound and Doppler test in the vascular lab. Incumbent is responsible for maintaining all certifications CPR, ARDMS, and SVRT. The incumbent will participate in on-call rotations on the weekends from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
