We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse (16 hrs/week) at our site in Clinton, Iowa.
Responsibilities:
Performs general nursing care to patients.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards of practice and established scopes of practice for licensed practical nurses
Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids the physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients
Observes, records, and reports patients condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
Administers prescribed medications as directed and in accordance with the established scope of practice
Oversees appointment bookings and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. Maintains timely flow of patients
Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination.
Screens patients for appropriate information.
Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests
Arranges for patient testing and admissions
Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls.
Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions
Formulates and updates patient care plans.
Orders, prepares, and inspects patients charts.
Posts tests and examination results
Responsible for preparation of exam rooms including re-stocking of treatment areas
Maintains patient confidentiality
Requirements:
Basic Life Support Certification
Licensed to practice in the state
Good computer skills
