Per Diem / Daily Contracting RN Behavior Medicine in Fredericksburg, VA Per Diem / Daily Contracting Evenings - Registered - RN License - 1 year relevant experience required - previous experience preferred This position is accountable for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for psychiatric patients. Mental health experience is preferred. Duties: Assesses, interprets, communicates and documents patient and family needs. Formulates individual plan of care to achieve desired outcomes for patient/significant other. Utilizes the nursing plan of care in the implementation and prioritization of safe therapeutic care for the patient. Communicates with interdisciplinary team to coordinate services and contributes to the continuous Performance Improvement process. Provides for a safe, clean and organized environment for patients and families. Provides ongoing medication teaching with patients and organizes therapeutic groups based on the unit program. In the absence of the Charge Nurse, makes patient care assignments based on patient needs and staff competencies. Maintains his/her own Competency Notebook. Maintains yearly updates of CPI, CPR, mandatory education and license. Demonstrates the ability to utilize effective organizational, decision making and problem solving skills in own practice environment and when supervising others.
