The Physician Assistant in Cardiovascular Surgery assists the supervising surgeon in the management of patients and performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the supervision of the surgeon. The Physiciasn Asisstant works closely with and assists the surgeon in providing quality, efficient, cost-effective and continuous care during patients hospitilization.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies required. Masters Degree preferred, supplemented with one year work related work experience.

Expereince: Two years in a hospital or medically related environment preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: PA License from the State of Pennsylvania. Current BLS certification, current ACLS certification

PA opportunity Hospitalist in Pennsylvania: Enterprise Medical Service

We are assisting a hospital in northwest Pennsylvania in the recruitment of an additional Physician Assistant for their Hospitalist program. Below are some points of interest:

Hospital is designated critical access facility utilizing 25 beds. Facility is well represented with primary care, and comprehensive staff of specialty providers. Position will involve a 7 on 7 off schedule, rotating the 26 week annual schedule to include night and day shifts.

This position will entail a general schedule of 2/3 months of night shifts, and then rotating a month for the day shift. The night shift of 7P-7A will involve rotating on patients, with an average census of 17-19. Internists are available to be called in as backup as needed. Day shifts involve working in conjunction with the Hospitalist physician. Hospital will offer a competitive starting salary and full hospital benefits.

Orthopedic Physician Assistant Opportunity: Enterprise Medical Service

We are assisting a hospital owned Orthopedic group in the recruitment of a third Physician Assistant. Below are some points of interest:

Group currently consists of two Orthopedic Surgeons, an Internist with sports medicine training, and two Physician Assistants. In addition to general Ortho surgery, they offer spine, shoulder, and sports care. The sports component includes services to two local universities and the high school. This group functions as a very cohesive team, as duties for the additional PA will include; pre-op and post-op clinic work, rounding on patients, and assisting in surgery. The current PAs are averaging 30 patients per day in the clinic. There are no call responsibilities with this opportunity. The physicians are very willing to mentor a PA who has interest in the Orthopedic arena. In 2010, the hospital will become home to a PA program, so, if desired, there is the opportunity for some teaching as well.Hospital will offer a competitive starting salary, attractive RVU incentive plan, and comprehensive benefits package.
