Per Diem / Daily Contracting RN Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in South Lake Tahoe, CA Per Diem / Daily Contracting - (4) Relevant Accredited Clinical Program - Minimum 1+ Year(s) Relevant Experience Required POSITION OVERVIEW Provides professional nursing care to patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit and the Ambulatory Surgical Unit, utilizing established policies and procedures, ensuring safe and effective care. Accurately and safely administers sedation/analgesia. Monitors patient response, ensures patient safety during procedure and documents according to policy & procedure. Services are provided based on the ages of the population served; Newborn through geriatric - 65 years or older and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to identify and meet the individualized needs of all patients served in PACU and ASU. Takes an active role in shared governance.The PACU/ACU Nurse is under the supervision of and reports to the Director Surgical Services. Able to assess data reflective of the patients status and interpret information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his/her age specific need, and to provide appropriate care. The nursing process is completed by providing quality patient care, assisting the physicians and interacting with personnel in other departments, all within the framework of the philosophy and policies established by St. Bernardine Medical Center. Requirements: Graduate of a school of nursing. California R.N. license. BLS. ACLS within 6 months of employment in the position. Prefer 1-year experience as an O.R. Staff Nurse, or completion of 160 hours internship Part Time, Temp, or Per Diem Employment
