Per Diem / Daily Contracting RN Orthopedics in Los Angeles, CA Per Diem / Daily Contracting Nights 2-Year degree (Any) The Respiratory Care Practitioner is under general supervision, conducts complex patient assessments, contributes to the plan of respiratory care, provides and evaluates general respiratory care to an assigned group of patients, using a holistic approach, and according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs. Collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care. Qualifications: Graduate of an A.M.A. approved two-year School of Respiratory Care. One year experience as a CHLA RCP II, or three years critical care experience. License, Registration or Certification Required: RCP license from the state of California. Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the NBRC. Arterial Blood Gases/Capillary Blood Gases (ADG/CBG) Certification. Intubation and/or I.V. Insertion Certification. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), specifically Health Care Provider, certification. Additional competencies may be required by the work location. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Thorough knowledge of respiratory care principles and equipment; CHLA patient care policies and procedures. Ability to assess effectiveness of patient care; maintain a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies; prioritize tasks for complex patient care; communicate tactfully, professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing. Our goal is to become the recognized center for Orthopedic excellence in the Sacramento area.
