As a community hospital the types of patients include the urban and suburban populations in Monroe County and surrounding areas. The operating room is staffed 24 hours a day/seven days a week. Graduate nurses are welcome. The ideal candidate will enjoy the challenge of high technology and state of the art equipment. Possessing skills in effective communication skills and a sense of confidence in one's practice are necessary attributes of a preoperative nurse. A comprehensive orientation program is provided. It is geared toward the experience level of the candidate. Orientation includes preoperative competencies, learning the scrub and circulating roles and orientation to the charge nurse.
