Per Diem / Daily Contracting Allied Occupational Therapist in Palm Coast, FL Per Diem / Daily Contracting Days Certification required CPR Reqiured Duties: The Occupational Therapists scope of work includes the identification, prevention, remediation, and rehabilitation of patients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities or changes in physical function, psychosocial abilities, activities of daily living and health status resulting from injury, diseases or other causes. The Occupational Therapists primary responsibility is to integrate the elements of patient management - examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and intervention - in a manner designed to maximize outcomes taking into consideration the patients goals. Occupational therapy intervention is the purposeful and skilled interaction of the occupational therapist with the patient and, when appropriate, with other individuals involved in patient care, utilizing therapeutic exercise, psychosocial, sensorimotor and perceptual motor skills and other procedures to produce changes in the condition consistent with the diagnosis and prognosis. They interact and practice in collaboration with a variety of both healthcare and non-healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, family members, government agencies and third-party payers. The Occupational Therapist participates in carrying out the objectives of this service by performing duties which are commensurate with his / her education. Duties are carried out within the framework established by the Department of Professional Regulations as promulgated within Standards of Practice and in full compliance with standards as set forth by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization (JCAHO), Commission Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) at Peninsula Rehabilitation Center (PRC), the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board (AOTCB). Education: The minimum requirement is a Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy. National Certification, State Licensure, CPR certification, and AIDS education are required. Must retain a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance, as driving between facilities is a requirement of this position Experience: Six months Occupational Therapy experience. Proficiency to rotate throughout the system (Acute: medical/surgical, neurology, orthopedic, oncology, critical care, cardiac care, Outpatient setting and Rehab Center) through the normal work routine is achieved in 12 months to 18 months.
