Provides comprehensive care for psychiatric patients based upon the multi-disciplinary treatment plan and the mental, emotional and physical needs of the patient and provides assessment of acute and non-acute clinical problems and toxicity's as they relate to a patient's psychiatric condition. Provide follow-up care for enrollees who do not have a prior relationship with a psychiatric prescriber. Document assessments and recommendations on consultation forms, nursing notes, progress notes and other forms as appropriate. Maintain records and caseload documentation as required. Function as therapist, co-therapist and/or participant in group sessions with patients. Prescribe medications according to accepted standards of psychiatric practice.

Experience in staff development, education, or precepting nurses and other clinicians. Management and leadership experience required. Practical experience in internal medicine, geriatrics, or oncology preferred (experience appropriate to complex case management with issues of aging). Demonstrates skills in clinical quality improvement and in resource management. Nurse Practitioner license in State of Virginia, graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Single specialty group needs a nurse practitioner and/or a physician assistant for a Cardiology practice. This would be a full-time employed position. Pays in the $75K range based on experience. Work at a 220-bed hospital located in southern Virginia.
A family oriented community located 50 miles North of Greensboro, NC and 50 miles South of Roanoke, VA. The city has a population of 17,000 and Henry County has a population of 53,000. The total service area for health care services at the hospital is 92,000 in population. The lakes and mountains also attract many vacationers and retirees to the area.
The public school is excellent. All schools are fully accredited. The city offers ample public and private schools, which provide sound educational support from primary through higher education. Their high school graduates attend such outstanding universities as the College of William and Mary, University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and University of North Carolina.
