Permanent / Full Time Nurse Practitioner Oncology / Hematology in Rochester, NY Permanent / Full Time Days The Nurse Practitioner is an independent health care provider who, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team, is responsible for providing comprehensive care to both well and ill patients. The Nurse Practitioner educated patients and/or their families in order to promote wellness, prevent health problems, maintain current health and intervene in acute or chronic illness. The Nurse Practitioner seeks opportunities for professional growth through participation in continuing education, staff development, hospital committees and community activities. All duties and responsibilities must be met within the guidelines of the unit, department, and institution in accordance with the written Practice Agreement required by the regulations of the Board of Education of the State of New York. Current licensure to practice as a RN in New York State. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program; Master''s degree preferred; professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice; extensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute and chronic patient/family problems. Current certification by a national certifying body (i.e.: ANA, NAACOG) in an appropriate specialty area is recommended. Must attain New York State Certification, per Department of Education regulations. 1-2 years previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner desirable, or a combination of related clinical experiences in progressively advancing nursing practice. Community health center in Westchester County seeks a nurse practitioner to head up one of its school clinics in Port Chester. School clinics averages 15 to 20 patients per day. However, nurse practitioner essentially manages all aspects of the clinic. Compensation for a nurse practitioner would be in the $80K to $90K range.
