The Congenital Heart Center at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Pediatric Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (Outpatient & Inpatient) to join their team of seven pediatric cardiologists, five pediatric cardiac intensivists, five nurse practitioners and two pediatric cardiac surgeons. St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is the only facility in the region (and one of a few in North America) that provides a continuum of cardiac care from prenatal diagnosis through childhood, adolescence, and adulthood for individuals with congenital heart disease. The Congenital Heart Surgical program has some of the best outcomes in the in the Society of Thoracic Surgeons national database. A designated 24 bed pediatric cardiothoracic unit was opened last summer and is unique to the southwest. Responsibilities: Direct care and management of patients with congenital heart disease in the inpatient setting under the direct supervision of Congenital Heart Center team. Experience in complex congenital heart disease, heart failure and cardiac transplant is preferred. Qualifications: Registered in AZ as pediatric nurse practitioner. Permanent / Full Time Nurse Practitioner ICU - Pediatric (PICU) in Phoenix, AZ Permanent / Full Time Rotating Eight Hour St. Joseph's Hospital is looking for Nurse Education Specialists to work with departments to determine education support needs. Qualified candidates will be responsible for competency assessment and education for new and experienced staff as well as providing curriculum development, research and publication assistance. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is part of the Childrens Health Center at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center. The 24 bed Level I PICU provides critical care for all children, ranging from newborn through the age of 21. Our very dedicated care focuses on the special needs of children and their families. Ten of the beds in the PICU are dedicated to the pediatric cardiothoracic ICU patients. The remaining 14 beds are devoted to the general and trauma PICU patient population. Services in both areas include: cardiovascular, pre and post op cardiac surgery, neurosurgery- pre and post op, neurological, trauma, orthopedic, ENT, cranial-facial reconstruction, metabolic disorders, and respiratory illnesses. The PICU is a tertiary referral unit for the state of Arizona. Neuroscience pediatric care is offered in collaboration with Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) of St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center. Childrens Health Center is expanding their services. We are currently developing a new 24 bed Pediatric Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit. At the same time, the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit will grow from 14 beds to 24 beds. Recently renovated, our 24-bed PICU is a bright, upbeat and exciting place to work. The spacious facility offers the latest in medical technology. We treat newborns to teenagers in areas such as cardiac, neurology, neurosurgery, trauma a craniofacial surgery. Educational Requirements: - Undergraduate (BA/BS) required. - Masters degree and certification in area of specialty preferred. Experience Requirements: - Five years clinical experience in clinical area of expertise. License/Registration/Certification: - AZ RN license or compact state. BCLS/ACLS and/or PALS based on clinical unit. Responsibilites include: staff needs assessment, educational planning, design and implementation of programs, evaluation of meeting staff needs. Ongoing development of programs to reflect changes in unit, regulatory or practice needs. Provides mentoring to staff and acts in key leadership role.
