Permanent / Full Time Medical Laboratory Personnel Medical Technologist in Grand Forks, ND Permanent / Full Time The Clinical Laboratory Scientist has an understanding of the underlying scientific principles of laboratory testing as well as the technical, procedural and problem-solving aspects of pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical testing phases; is capable of performing and interpreting waived, moderate and complex tests, and possesses the knowledge and skill to perform routine phlebotomy for patients in the following age groups: infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Has a general comprehension of the many factors which affect health and disease and recognizes the importance of proper test selection, the numerous causes of discrepant test results and deviations of test results; correlates laboratory data with pathologic state and age of the patient, determines validity of test results and need for additional tests; has an understanding of quality assurance sufficient to implement, interpret and monitor quality control programs; understands, performs and utilizes troubleshooting, validation, statistical, computer and preventative maintenance techniques to insure proper laboratory operation; has the ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in dealing with the broad scope of procedural and technical problems; and is able to participate in and may be delegated the responsibility for decisions involving: quality control/quality assurance programs, investigation and implementation of new procedures, instrument and methodology evaluation, preventive maintenance, safety procedures, reagent purchases, test selection/utilization, research procedures, computer/statistical data. Additional responsibilities include, providing instruction in theory, technical skills, safety protocols and application of laboratory test procedures. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science. Has a valid certification by a recognized certifying agency (NCA, ASCP). Valid licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS/MT) by the North Dakota Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice. MT / CLS Salary Range: $18.42-23.02 The Medical Laboratory Technician has a working comprehension of the theoretical, technical and procedural aspects of pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases of laboratory testing; correlates laboratory tests to disease processes and patient age and understands basic physiology, recognizing appropriate test selection and abnormal test results; comprehends and follows procedural guidelines in performance of waived, moderate and highly complex laboratory tests to include: quality control monitoring, computer applications, instrumentation troubleshooting and specimen collection and processing requirements. Possesses the knowledge and skill to perform phlebotomy for patients in the following age groups: infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric; and recognizes the existence of procedural and technical problems and takes corrective action according to pre-determined criteria. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing technical instruction in laboratory processes, performing general supervision duties as qualified, performing supervised research, instrument/methodology evaluation and procedure drafting, and communicating information to customers and other care providers. Required: An associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology. Valid certification by a recognized certifying agency (NCA, ASCP). Valid licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT/CLT) by the North Dakota Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice. MLT / CLT salary range: $13.74-17.18 Regular Full Time Employment

4. Special Equipment/Procedures: You will be performing generalist duties. You will be using this equipment in these areas: LIS: Lab Soft / Beethoven, Hematology: Beckman Coulter Act 5, Chemistry: Virtos 250, Special Chemistry: Access, and Coagulation: ACL 100.
5. Environment: You will be working the first shift 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM with rotating Call after 5:00 PM and on weekends.
