North Central: Rural Health Education & Services

KRC.1007.1801.07 Med Tech needed for a 25-bed critical access hospital. Hospital services include a full lab, diagnostic imaging (including CT, Fluro, Mammogram, Dexascan, and Ultrasound), Rehabilitation Services (PT, OT and Speech), Surgical Services, ER, OR and Respiratory Therapy. Additional hospital facilities include a 25-bed long term care unit and an outreach clinic that is staffed 2 1/2 days per week. Day shift available, with 1-2 days call per week. Equal rotation of weekend and holiday coverage and currently 8-10 hour shifts. Salary is competitive with benefit package. Please refer to position number KRC.1007.1801.07.

KRC.0508.1910.06 Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician position available for a 25-bed critical access hospital and rural health clinic. Currently, there are 2 Medical Technologists, 1 Medical Laboratory Technician, and 2 PRN Medical Technologists on staff. Hospital services include med/surg acute care, obstetrics, family birthing rooms, swing beds, on-site CT, ultrasound, mammography, PT, OT, speech therapy, respiratory therapy, home health DME store, ER cardiac rehab, mobile MRI, and 14 specialty outpatient clinics. The first building in Kansas-a pueblo, was erected about the time of Columbus, and an important battle in Kansas between the U.S. Cavalry and Native Americans took place in the county.

Camping and recreation vehicle facilities are offered at the State Park which allows visitors to fish, boat, hike, and view the outcroppings of the Ogallala, the storage tank for water on these high plains. Wild game abounds with pheasants, turkeys, jackrabbits, and deer. Native Bison, also known as buffalo, are viewable at the park. Thousands of cattle are also fed in this county.

The lush green fields of wheat in spring turn gold for harvest in early summer. Grain sorghum (milo) and corn supply the green for summer. When cool weather arrives, there is the chance for seeing morning mirages where distant farms show up above the horizon, and at night, the beautiful light mirages leap up light on light.
