Per Diem / Daily Contracting LVN/LPN Orthopedics in Marinette, WI Per Diem / Daily Contracting Days Variable hours, shifts, days and weekends. Qualifications:LPN license required. Experience in an Orthopaedic clinic required. Must be adept at obtaining detailed patient history and in handling clinic telephone triage. Able to provide care for patients of all ages. Computer experience preferred. Excellent customer relation skills essential. Responsibilities:Collects data accurately and sees that all information is transferred to patient chart correctly. Uses effective communication skills and interpersonal skills in obtaining information from patient. Maintains patient confidentiality. Renders direct patient care within the LPN Scope of Practice Instructs patients and their family members in home care as instructed by the physician. Assists with health education and rehabilitation on the patients level of understanding. Patient Care: a)Prepares rooms for the patients and cleans rooms between patients. b)Patient intake to include: weight, blood pressure, temperature, ask reason for visit, document vitals, etc. c)Assist physician in clinic procedures when needed to include: preparing injectables, changing dressings, removing stitches, and aiding in casting and splinting, ordering and following up on radiology and laboratory requests. d)Specimen handling that may include packaging for mailing or sending to lab, etc. e)Administer medication and vaccines as prescribed. f)Return patient phone calls and take calls which need triage. g)Place phone calls to obtain information pertinent to patients appointment and preop information. h)Relay the physicians instructions to the patient . i)Able to provide care for patients of all ages. Other: a)Watches schedule for time, inform front desk if doctor is running more than hour late, keep doctor on schedule as much as possible. b)Keep work areas clean. c)Monitors inventory of medical supplies, reorder as needed. d)Scheduling tests and instructing patients as needed. e)Assist Receptionist when needed at the front desk, and fill in during absences. f)Other duties as assigned/directed by physician, or clinic management. g)Pull charts for reports received to review physician assistant or physician. h)Files all reports in charts.
