Permanent / Full Time LVN/LPN Medical / Surgical in Grand Forks, ND Permanent / Full Time - Refer to Job Summary for Qualifications JOB SUMMARY Altru Health System is committed to achieving Organizational Excellence and expects each employee to actively participate in the achievement of the departmental goals associated with the 5 Pillars of Excellence Service, Quality, People, Finance and Growth. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs and documents assessments appropriate to licensure and ensures that the assessment is reviewed by a Registered Nurse; ensures a health history is completed; ensures that intervention or referrals are made; identifies discharge planning/education needs; provides patient care; reviews Patient Care Guideline with patient/patients family and provides patient/patient family with appropriate education and counseling; administers medications; performs procedures according to physician order; identifies significant changes or high risk situations in patients condition; completes all documentation; determines patient classification/acuity; completes order entry and verification; demonstrates use of equipment; communicates patient progress and incorporates Patient Care guideline using it as a basis for concise report and assists with coordination and preparation of transfer. Patients cared for include those in the following age groups: infant, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED: Required: Associate Degree in Licensed Practical Nursing. Any LPN with acceptable certification may apply (includes any LPNs grandfathered into new certification requirements). Licensure required by North Dakota Board of Nursing. IV certification required within one (1) year of employment. Successful completion of functional assessment. Preferred: Experience in a hospital setting. Regular Full Time Employment
