Site: Lorain County Health & Dentistry, 1800 Livingston Ave., Lorain, OH; satellite at 3745 Grove Ave. Provider Type: Dentist Primary Specialty: General Dentistry Salary: $90,000+ based on experience; excellent benefits, including medical, dental and vision, company paid ST/LT disability and life insurance, three weeks paid vacation and paid continuing education, 401k with 100% company match -- up to 4% or IRS limit (after first year) Position Available: 2/01/2007 Minimum Experience Required: Two years general dentistry experience and a desire to work in a community health center (where patient need is great and resources are limited) are preferred. A strong commitment to improving clinical quality outcomes is a must. Interpersonal skills that contribute to a productive team are essential. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus. Medically Underserved Area: Yes Health Professional Shortage Area: Applied for -- decision expected shortly Rural Health Center: No Service Area Size: Service area includes the City of Lorain with approximately 68,000 residents. Lorain has a culturally-diverse population. We have two sites; the main site is in downtown Lorain and houses the dental clinic. The second site is dedicated to adult medicine, and is located four miles away in a largely Latino neighborhood. Type of Practice: Primary health care center offering general dentistry Employment Arrangements: Fulltime position with 40 clinical appointment hours/week; two-year employment contract Academic Faculty Option: Possible Practice Schedule: MondayFriday, with specific office hours still to be determined. A rotating one evening per week will likely be required. Loan Repayment: Possible Call Coverage: Two dentists to share Practice Environment: New six-operatory clinic opened on February 1, 2005. Clinic is located in a spacious, modern one-story health center, and was designed for patient and provider comfort, satisfaction and efficiency. The program has been integrated into the Centers overall primary health model. The dental team includes two fulltime dentists (one serves as Director), a contracted part-time pediatric dentist, three full-time assistants, one hygienist and appropriate support and billing staff. Opportunity Description: We have a busy dental clinic and expect volume to continue to grow based on the volume of medical patients actively seen in pediatrics, adult medicine, Ob/Gyn, and dermatology (10,500 -- with 34,000 outpatient visits in 2005). The atmosphere is professional yet relaxed. Those who work here are committed to the mission to serve all regardless of ability to pay. Strong emphasis is placed on clinical quality and serving the community. Community Type and Description: Lorain is the largest city in Lorain County and is situated in the northernmost point of the county on Lake Erie. Residents enjoy the lakefront (parks, swimming beaches, boating, fishing pier, new lake/riverfront condos and single family homes), benefits of a culturally diverse population (restaurants, festivals, shopping), and the citys good and reliable services. Lorain is an easy 40-minute drive to Cleveland (arts, orchestra, education and health care institutions) and a 30-minute drive to the Cleveland Hopkins airport. Sandusky is 40 minutes west of Lorain, and is home to Cedar Point Amusement Park and the ferry docks to Lake Eries islands. Lorain offers urban and rural living.



Toledo: Ohio Association of Community Health Centers

Site: Neighborhood Health Association, Toledo, Ohio. Provider Type: Dentist. Primary Specialty: General Dentistry. Salary: Competitive, based on experience and credentials. Position Available: Immediately. Minimum Experience Required: Must be licensed in the state of Ohio; DDS or DDM degree required; one year experience preferred. Medically Underserved Area: Yes. Health Professional Shortage Area: Yes. Service Area Size: Serving the underserved urban Toledo population, including the homeless. Type of Practice: FQHC Family Health Care. Employment Arrangements: Full-time. Practice Environment: FQHC health care clinics providing family care with specializations in cardiology, podiatry, general surgery, dentistry, and midwifery. Opportunity Description: Dentist sought to provide quality, comprehensive dental care and services using current standards and materials. Will oversee and coordinate the operation of the facilitys dental operation for low-income and Medicaid patients, while operating within budget and at maximum efficiency. This is both a busy and relaxed atmosphere, with approximately 15 physicians on staff. The support staff includes MAs, contracted nurse midwives, one adult nurse practitioner, and four RNs. The services that are available are lab, dental and optometry in our homeless clinic. There are no behavioral services available on-site, but we are contracted with Harbor Behavioral to provide those services. There approximately eight sites within this organization. Community Type and Description: The Neighborhood Health Association of Toledo has provided quality primary health care to Toledos under- and uninsured residents for over 35 years. With six community health center locations, a pediatrics center, two school-based service sites, and the administration of a senior services center, NHA is the largest Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC) system in northwest Ohio. NHA champions the effort to provide access to quality health services through the provision of comprehensive medical, dental, pharmacy, and social services, as well as the use of innovative health programs and targeted educational initiatives.
