Per Diem / Daily Contracting RN ICU - Critical Care / Intensive Care (ICU) in Grand Forks, ND Per Diem / Daily Contracting - Refer to Job Summary for Qualifications The Registered Nurse performs and documents assessments; ensures health history is completed; individualizes Patient Care Guideline; identifies discharge planning/education needs; provides patient care; administers medications; identifies changes or high risk situations; provides patient/patients family with appropriate education and counseling; reviews Patient Care Guidelines with the patient and patients family; evaluates and documents patient/patients family response to treatment, education and progress; plans and communicates with Multidisciplinary Team; participates in House-wide Code Team; completes all documentation; assigns admits/transfers; transfers patients; completes patient classification; assesses unit staffing needs and ensures completion of post discharge and/or outlying referral phone call. Patients cared for include: children, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Required: Registered Nurse. Licensed by the North Dakota Board of Nursing (if a resident of North Dakota or changing residence for longer than 30 days) or licensed by a member of the Compact State Agreement if not a North Dakota resident. (If changing residence from a Compact State to North Dakota, will need to obtain a North Dakota license within 30 working days of obtaining new residency.) Nurses who provide nursing care to patients calling from Minnesota will need to be licensed by the Minnesota Board of Nursing or will obtain their Minnesota license within four (4) weeks from their first day of work (telephone calls from patients calling from Minnesota can not be taken from any nurse unless they have obtained their Minnesota license). Successful completion of functional assessment. Preferred: Past nursing experience in a hospital setting. Past nursing experience in a critical care setting or a critical care practicum experience.
