The scope of care includes adult patients ages 18+ with a special focus on acutely ill geriatric patients age 70 and over. Remote telemetry is available on the unit. Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) programming is used on patients ages 70 and over to prevent deconditioning. The RN manages the care delivery for patients in the hospital throughout the length of stay to achieve quality outcomes and timely discharge. Must have an Associates degree, Diploma, or Bachelor of Science from an Accredited Nursing Program prior to employment, and have a current ( or be eligible for) Michigan RN license. We are not currently accepting applications from new graduate nurses for this position. Applicant must be available full-time for 6- 8 weeks for orientation. These are 72 hour /pay period, night shift, benefited positions. Must have an Associates degree, Diploma, or Bachelor of Science from an Accredited Nursing Program prior to employment. Must have a current Michigan RN license in good standing. Critical Care experience preferred. May consider an applicants with current solid med-surg experience. This is not a position suitable for new graduates. BLS required. ACLS required within one year of hire. Every other week-end and 50% holiday coverage. The Trauma Care/Burn Unit/SICU has 20 private rooms. Patients include adolescents to geriatrics. The population of this unit consists of patients with single or multisystem traumatic injuries; acute burn care, and critically ill surgical patients.
