Per Diem / Daily Contracting RN ICU - Critical Care / Intensive Care (ICU) in Bridgeport, CT Per Diem / Daily Contracting Nights The RN, as a MET nurse, will respond to codes/MET calls as the primary critical care nurse; specific duties include providing nursing care for the patient from resuscitation through placement in the MSICU or stabilization on the floor; provide immediate debriefing and education to the nursing staff after a code/MET call; provide critical care support to the nursing staff in all areas of the hospital, including transporting of critically ill patients; proactively round on nursing units to collaborate with the staff/charge nurse to identify, assess, intervene and document as necessary at risk patients; act as a resource and support staff as clinical issues arise; assure standards and protocols are followed; assess learning opportunities and implement a teaching plan as needed; develop and implement mock code training throughout the hospital; facilitate interdisciplinary patient care to provide quality outcomes; conduct rounds on all previous MET call patients; conduct rounds on all patients transferred from a higher level of care within the past 24 hours; collect and analyze data for MET/codes reporting to the Code 99 Committee. BSN required. 5 years of current critical care experience. BLS, ACLS required; CCRN strongly desired (must obtain within 1 year) Part Time, Temp, or Per Diem Employment
