Per Diem / Daily Contracting RN ICU - Critical Care / Intensive Care (ICU) in Boulder, CO Per Diem / Daily Contracting Position Summary: Provides patient care, identifying and implementing nursing interventions and evaluating outcomes. This person is responsible for behaviors and functions outlined in essential duties, personal competency and involvement in quality improvement. Care is provided to ages 13 years and up. This position covers Foothills and Broadway campuses. Job Qualifications Education or Formal Training: Graduate of a School of Nursing Special Qualifications (licensure, registration, etc.) 1. Colorado RN license in good standing 2.ACLS certification required before conditional period ends. Suspension will occur if certification lapses. Knowledge, Skill and Ability : 1.Demonstrated physical and mental health to apply nursing theories, procedures and standards to clinical practice. 2.Cardiac monitor interpretation Experience One-year telemetry or critical care experience preferred Materials and Equipment Directly Used Standard medical/hospital equipment: i.e., hospital beds, wheelchairs and carts, positioning aids, monitoring equipment, phone and intercom systems, computers, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to constantly stand and walk. Working Environment/Physical Activities : 1.Expectation is to work both campus ICUs for scheduled, unscheduled, and on-call shifts. This requires basic understanding of both units and equipment differences. 2.Physical working environment may include, but is not limited to, any of the following hazards: chemicals, electrical, mechanical, biowaste, explosive, radiation, etc. 3.Environmental conditions may include, but not limited to: variations in temperature, noise, odors, etc. 4.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to constantly stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to stoop, crouch and twist. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, squat and sit. 5. The employee must be able to consistently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 10 pounds, frequently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally support, push, pull and/or transfer up to 50 pounds and over (for example, moving a patient from a wheelchair to a bed). 6.Functional physical demands include manual dexterity, fine motor skills and reaching.
